Behind the Mask: On A DPR Level with Jordan Daniel

DPR SKN is skin care that goes deeper. Our philosophy is about helping people to get on a deeper level with their own skin care by integrating wellness and self-love to promote a healthy lifestyle. Through our product and the Journal, we share our advice, skin care and wellness tips, and overall how to be the best you can be. We love to read interviews and get a glimpse of people’s lives. We see that all day long on social media, and read countless celeb interviews, but let’s get to know each other on a DPR level and get inspired to embrace our natural beauty!

For our latest Behind the Mask feature, we interviewed the beautiful mama, Jordan Daniel! Jordan and I met in college at FIDM and since then, she’s launched a fashion and lifestyle blog called Le Blonde Chateau, got married, and started a family! She has the cutest daughter and newborn son! Jordan is such a positive light and is so open about sharing her journey, struggles and all. Let’s get to know Jordan on a DPR [deeper] level...

Tell us a little about yourself... age, where you live, what you do, etc!

I’m Jordan! I’m 27 years old, live in Orange County & am a stay at home mama!

Congratulations on your new baby boy! So happy for you! How are you adjusting to being a mama of 2 and still making time to take care of yourself and getting back into blogging?

Thank you!! I learned the hard way with my first that taking care of myself is vitally important to my ability to care for my babies, so I try my best to squeeze in a short workout every day, along with a little bit of “me time” once the kids go to bed. Usually that consists of binge watching Friends in bed haha. My blog has totally taken a backseat during this season, which is more than ok with me. It’s so awesome to have it as a hobby/creative outlet when I need it, but being present with my babies is definitely #1 right now.

I imagine you’ve got your routines streamlined down pat… what are a few of your favorite steps in your morning routine when you get ready and your evening routine winding down for bed?

Such a basic answer but I’m such an enneagram 1 and a solid routine is like the only way I survive haha. Each of my little ones has their own daily routines, and this helps me keep on track with my own. Granted, they’re little kids and never “perfectly” follow a schedule, but it’s nice for both them and myself to have a little outline of how each day is going to flow :) My morning routine for myself has gotten pretty lazy, since I’m usually up nursing around 6:30, then getting my 2 year old up for the day right after. Once they're up and have both eaten, I always have my green juice, followed by a small breakfast. I don't workout until they are both napping around 1, then I do my BBG at home. At night, I cannot even think about getting into bed without washing my face!! Even if I wasn’t wearing any makeup that day. I usually double cleanse, tone, eye cream or vitamin e oil, then moisturizer.

What are your biggest skin care concerns? How do you overcome them?

The last year or so, my skin has been at its best! I rarely breakout (knock on wood..), so my main focus has been anti-aging. I love learning all about skin care, ingredients, and anti-aging. One thing I started doing before I got pregnant was incorporating a retinol into my routine a few nights a week. I’ll start that back up again once I’m done breastfeeding.

How do you incorporate the Clay Mask into your skin care routine?

Since I don’t really breakout, I use the Clay Mask pretty often on ingrown hairs. And also on my husband 😂 It is super effective for both of us and has become a product I absolutely swear by! I know he won’t read this so I can tell you that anytime he comes to me with a “can you pop this?” I say “nope, we’re putting cream on it.” And put the Clay Mask on him. 99% of the time whatever it was is gone by the next day. And I love that it contains all ingredients that are safe to put on/in our bodies!

How do you take care of yourself on a deeper level (what do you do to stay active, healthy, calm and positive, and embrace your natural beauty?)

I love this question! I think it’s so important to find a balance between caring for yourself & serving others. I love my Netflix nights, and epsom salt baths, but am much more fulfilled when taking care of my babies or cooking and cleaning our home for my husband. That’s where my joy truly comes from!

Any last words or advice?! Positive affirmations that you live by?

Every year I find that I cling on to several scriptures that really apply to my growth in that specific season. Currently I've been remembering Isaiah 30:40 which says, "He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up on wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." This is my reminder that even on the days that I feel like I cannot go any longer, stay awake for another second, rock a crying baby another minute, handle another tantrum, etc, that my strength is not found in myself, but as I keep my trust in God, He will increase my capacity for these things, and give me the grace to handle them with a joyful heart.
